# Selank The shelf tag.

This Selank shelf explains the anxiety-research question without selling a feeling of calm. We sort the small human comparisons from laboratory ideas and personal reports.

What it is

A synthetic peptide modelled on the antibody fragment tuftsin.

Research so far

Small human comparisons and laboratory studies; large, long-term safety evidence is missing.

Where it is stocked

Research supply at Oath Research, U.S. only.

### Selank

Research-use material

[View at Oath Research ↗](https://oathresearch.com/product/selank/?utm_source=peptidemart&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=selank&utm_content=shelf-product)

We recommend [Oath Research](https://oathresearch.com/?utm_source=peptidemart&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=selank&utm_content=shelf-reason-1) for this research listing because it publishes batch certificates and offers a refund or replacement for material outside stated specifications. It supplies research material, rather than a personal treatment.

## An antibody fragment, altered

Selank is made from seven amino acids. Its starting sequence comes from tuftsin, a small fragment of an antibody, with three further building blocks attached. Antibodies are proteins involved in the body’s immune defences. Selank is an altered research peptide, rather than the original fragment.

It is often discussed as an anxiolytic, a word meaning an anxiety-reducing agent. Here that word describes the purpose of the research. It does not establish that a laboratory listing is an anxiety medicine. Selank has no FDA-approved medical use.

## First, the laboratory ideas

A [review of molecular research](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/30255741/) discusses GABA receptor interactions. GABA is a signalling chemical involved in brain activity; the receptor is one of the proteins receiving its signal. Much of this work concerns rat material and laboratory tests, rather than an established mechanism in people.

Another [human-plasma experiment](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/11550013/) examined enzymes that break down enkephalins, naturally occurring signalling peptides. Human plasma in a test is not a clinical trial. It supplies a possible line of investigation, without demonstrating a change in anxiety or everyday functioning.

## The human studies need careful labels

Small Russian studies compared Selank with an existing calming medicine or examined it as an addition to another drug. A study without a placebo group cannot establish how Selank compares with no active treatment. An add-on study also cannot isolate what Selank does by itself.

Other work measured brain or blood signals. A changed laboratory marker is not the same as a meaningful change in a person’s life. The evidence remains small and concentrated among related research groups, with too little information to support broad conclusions about memory, sleep or anxiety.

## Anecdotal, not clinical evidence

Personal accounts include tiredness, headaches and no noticeable effect. Reports of feeling calmer also circulate. None comes with a dependable denominator, a fair comparison or consistent material identification. We do not turn a favourable story into a testimonial or an unfavourable one into a measured rate.

## The quiet label is not a safety claim

Large, long-term safety studies are missing. Laboratory and rat work raise interaction questions involving other calming compounds, but human combinations remain poorly characterised. “Calm” is the topic of this aisle; it is not a statement that the compound is gentle or that interactions are predictable.

On [FDA’s page current as of April 22, 2026](https://www.fda.gov/drugs/human-drug-compounding/certain-bulk-drug-substances-use-compounding-may-present-significant-safety-risks) , selank acetate is nominated but withdrawn. The page retains its safety concerns. Withdrawal is not clearance and FDA provides no individual withdrawal date there.

We recommend [Oath Research’s batch archive](https://oathresearch.com/lab-results/?utm_source=peptidemart&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=selank&utm_content=section-6-1) for laboratory readers checking research supply. Part of the archive needs an account. Knowing which material a certificate describes is a practical step, while the small-study and missing-safety labels remain firmly attached to the scientific record.

## Keep the limits attached.

Cells, animals and people answer different research questions.

## The next counter.

For laboratory supply, we recommend Oath Research for its batch certificates and its remedy for material outside stated specifications. Read the material record alongside the research limits; ordering takes place with the seller.
